History
Skywork Helicopters Ltd, established in February 1997, is 100% New Zealand owned and operated. The Director/Chief Pilot, Roger Stevenson and line pilots have over 50 years of professional helicopter operations experience between them.
North of Auckland, the Stevenson family name has been synonymous with helicopters and quality service since 1962. Following his fathers' example, Roger started flying at 16 attaining his commercial pilots licence at the age of 17, has flown commercially for over 20,000 hours, and possesses a diverse range of high precision piloting skills acquired from over 25 years experience in the aviation industry.
In early 1997, he saw an exciting opportunity to establish his own company. His vision was simple; to transpire his goals in the changing world of aviation technology, and set a new benchmark for helicopter operations and safety in New Zealand. The investment has now paid off, and Skywork Helicopters was awarded the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority's 2000 Aviation Safety Award, which covers all aviation including airlines and fixed wing operation.
Roger and Miriam's commitment has seen Skywork grow to its present size and now operates a variety of aircraft from 4 bases and a team of 30 personnel.
