Treasured Harbour (Maori translation for Whangarei)
Lifting off over the glistening harbour of Whangarei city towards the untouched splendour of the Whangarei Falls. Turning east we fly low over the green rolling coastal farms to the shimmering sands of Bream Bay to catch a glimpse of a group of cruising whales or dolphins playing through the surf, before heading back to Whangarei city.
From Whangarei city we fly to the golden dunes of the east coast, skimming along the shoreline to the welcoming harbour of "Tutukaka". Views are abound as we launch out over the Pacific Ocean to the Poor Knights Islands and Marine Reserve, home to one of the world's top five diving spots. Past the shipwrecks of the Tui and Waikato, towards the Bay Of Islands, where 144 spectacular islands are spread across some of the most memorable coastal scenery in NZ. Swooping past the beach resort of Paihia to Russell, NZ's first capital, then on to circle around the famous "Hole in the Rock" formation. Sit back and relax as we whisk you over rural towns, bubbling brooks and native forests to home.
